Tekfen Construction and Installation, one of our affiliate companies, has been awarded the US$299 million turnkey construction contract of the 333-km jet fuel pipeline project extending between Yanbu and Jeddah. The project is scheduled to be completed in 47 months.

Having completed numerous infrastructural and industrial projects in Qatar since 2005, Tekfen Construction has signed a preliminary protocol with the State of Qatar for the "Al Khor Expressway" project. Tekfen Construction will complete the turnkey project within 36 months.
Tekfen Construction has attained accident-free 25 million man-hours at the Sangachal Onshore Terminal project within the Shah Deniz Stage 2 investment of Azerbaijan. The project management has received its certificate from Bruce Luberski, Vice President of BP, during his site visit.

Tekfen Construction has contracted the building of a new headquarters for the Taxes Ministry of Azerbaijan, the scope of the 94 million dollar contract encompassing the steel frame concrete reinforcement structure and siding. Tekfen will carry out the project employing its 60-year experience along with state-of-the-art technology.
The fourth "Global Best Projects" awards by ENR (Engineering News Record) have been announced. Built by Tekfen Construction in Azerbaijan's capital Baku and opened by Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev on May 30, SOCAR Tower was selected by ENR as the "Best International Office Building of the Year."
Prestigious projects from 5 continents and 15 countries received awards in 18 different categories. These projects were evaluated from a variety of aspects including security performance, use of technology, design, and construction quality; also taken into account was the ways in which society and the construction industry benefited from them.
The awards will be given at the ENR Global Construction Summit in New York on October 11.

Tekfen Philharmonic gave a concert at UNIQ Istanbul Open Air Theater on Sunday night, June 19, as part of the 44th Istanbul Music Festival. Entitled "Songs the Moon," the concert was directed by the young Uzbek conductor Aziz Shokhakimov.
This was the first time the orchestra gave an open air concert at the Music Festival, accompanying Teona Dvali, the Georgian soprano, Andrej Dunaev, the Russian tenor, and Murat Karahan, the Turkish tenor who was a last-minute surprise addition to the programme. The concert took place in the enchanting atmosphere under the moonlight, beginning with favorite arias and ending with Bizet's Carmen Suites to the standing ovation of the audience.
The equal-share joint venture between Tekfen Construction and Doğuş Construction has won the tender for the construction of the Afyonkarahisar-Uşak (Banaz) Section of the Ankara-Izmir Rapid Train Project and the Afyonkarahisar Direct Pass Infrastructure for TRY879 million. The completion period for the project is 36 months. This new project is the third railway project Tekfen Construction will be undertaking after the Bursaray light rail system and the Istanbul Levent subway line project.
At the World Stadium Congress 2016 held at Doha, Qatar, the World Stadium Congress Awards Supreme Committee gave Tekfen Construction the "Stadium Contractor of the Year" award.

In addition to its ongoing Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) LOT 3 project, Tekfen Construction has signed a new USD457 million contract for the engineering, procurement, and construction works of the compressor and metering stations for the 1,850 km long Turkish portion of TANAP.
The period for the completion of the project has been determined as 39 months.
The Mersin Plant of Toros Agri, one of our Group companies, has been awarded with the "Energy-Efficient Industrial Plant" (EEIP) award of the General Directorate of Energy on account of its top performance in decreasing energy intensiveness.
The Mersin Plant's data resides on the Energy Efficiency Portal, and as a result of the calculations and evaluations carried out by the General Directorate, it came in first in the "chemical materials, products, and artificial fiber" industry.

Chairwoman of Tekfen Group Company Toros Tarım and CEO of Tekfen Holding's Agri Division, Esin Mete has retired as of December 31st, 2015 of her own accord. She has worked at Tekfen for 42 years and has contributed to every stage of Toros Tarım's development from its foundations to its current success as Turkey's largest private sector agricultural company. We are deeply grateful to Ms. Mete for her commitment and true dedication and wish her well in the future. Until a new appointment is made, Deputy Chairman Osman Birgili will be in charge of Toros Tarım.

A new species of Scilla (squill) was discovered in the Alpinic meadows of the Kaçkar Mountains in Northeastern Anatolia, its natural habitat.

Baku Olympic Stadium, completed within a record 24 months by Tekfen Construction, is the proud recipient of ENR's (Engineering News Record) "Global Best Project Awards - 2015" in the category of Sports/Entertainment. The stadium was host to the magnificent opening and closing ceremonies of the first European Games ever, held last June.
Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, hosts the Baku 2015 European Games held between June 12 and 28, 2015 for the first time. The opening ceremony of this great sports event, where over 6,000 athletes from 49 countries will compete against each other, was held at the Baku Olympic Stadium, designed and built by Tekfen Construction.
Seating 68,000, the stadium was flooded by the people of Azerbaijan for the opening ceremony, with tickets sold out days before the event. Lady Gaga ravished the whole stadium with her cover of John Lennon's "Imagine."
The groundbreaking ceremony for HEP Istanbul "Home of My Life Project" has been held. Tekfen Real Estate Development had begun sales last October.

Ali Nihat Gökyiğit, one of the founding partners of Tekfen Group and Chairman and Managing Director of its Board of Directors, handed over his post and duties to Murat Gigin, member of the Board, at the meeting of the Board of Directors on May 7, 2015.
The Board thanked Gökyiğit for his invaluable work for nearly sixty years, and decided to give him the title of "Founding and Honorary Chairman." Gökyiğit, who will continue to serve on the Board as member, thanked for the title, saying he held many different titles and served in a variety of posts in his lifetime but that this one was for him the pinnacle of his career. Gökyiğit also said that he handed over his post to Murat Gigin with full trust and wished him success.
Gigin joined Tekfen Construction in 1977, serving as General Manager between 1988 and 1998, since which date he has been member of the Board at Tekfen Holding.

Tekfen Construction has signed the Third Lot of the Trans Anatolia Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) Project for USD565 million.
TANAP will bring the natural gas from Shah Deniz - Stage 2 in Azerbaijan to Turkey and will carry it to Europe; the companies to carry out the land pipeline construction have been selected. As a result of the tender for the 56-inch land pipeline construction for Lot 1, Lot 2, and Lot 3, Tekfen Construction, a Tekfen Holding company, has signed an agreement for Lot 3.
Organized by Tekfen Foundation, the Tenth Traditional Scholarship Students Meeting was held at Tekfen Tower on Friday, December 19, bringing together students from all over Turkey. Senior managers of the Tekfen Group companies were also present at the event, offering the students the opportunity to get better acquainted with the Tekfen family and culture.

Tekfen's ongoing construction of the 68 thousand seated Baku Olympic Stadium, has attained a new high point in work safety. At its peak, 4,500 people worked on the project to finish it in time for the first European Olympic Games to be held in 2015, thus the amount of accident-free hours since the beginning of the construction has reached as high as 13 million manhours. Set to become one of the symbols of modern Baku, the stadium is now 80% completed.
Having been conducting "The Most Admired Companies" survey on a global scale for many years, Fortune magazine carried out the survey's Turkey leg with Hay Group. "The Most Admired Companies of Turkey" was created with the votes of 790 senior executives, and the list constitutes an important indicator of corporate prestige. Azfen JV, Tekfen's joint venture company in Azerbaijan, has entered an equal-share partnership with Italian Saipem for the construction of the South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion (SCPX) project in Azerbaijan and Georgia as part of the Shah Deniz Phase 2 investments.
With a total project value of USD735 million, Tekfen Construction's current backlog has been increased by approximately USD147 million through its share in Azfen.
Tekfen Construction projects are reporting news of accident free operations. Under construction by Tekfen, the SOCAR Tower Project, the Azerbaijan State Oil Companys headquarters in Baku, has completed 5 million man-hours of without Lost Time Incident (LTI). Another piece of good news concerning accident-free operation came from Qatar. The Additional Completion Works Project for the North Road has completed 4 million man-hours of LTI, while the Propylene Oxide Process Unit, whose construction was begun in 2012 for Sadara Chemicals in Saudi Arabia has accomplished 3 million man-hours without LTI. And lastly, Tekfen Construction has been carrying out the construction of the Investment Project at the Samsun Plant of its sister company Toros Tarım, with 1 million man-hours without LTI so far. These achievements were documented as well as rewarded with certificates by their respective clients.
The popular business magazine Fortune Türkiye cited Esin Mete, Chairwoman of Toros Tarım, as one of the "50 Most Powerful Women in Turkey." The magazine depicted 50 professional women playing important roles in Turkish business life, and described Esin Mete as "a voluntary ambassador warning countries about hunger and diminishing resources on the global arena."
The magazine's April issue featuring an interview with Esin Mete emphasizes her work as president of IFA (International Fertilizer Industry Association) besides her role as top executive at Toros Tarım, presenting Mete as a "fighter" in the agricultural industry dominated almost totally by men. Underlining the fact that Esin Mete is the first woman president of IFA, the magazine described her mission during her two-year term as "bringing to the attention of all countries, and especially Turkey, the added value of soil and fertilizers and the issue of rapidly diminishing resources."

The play will be performed at Üsküdar Tekel Sahnesi on Thursday, May 15 and Friday, May 16.
Becoming a Rhinoceros 2.014 is an entertaining and fast-paced contemporary comedy written and directed by Şahika Tekand, and will be performed again at Üsküdar Tekel Sahnesi on Wednesday, June 4 and Thursday, June 5. Staged for the first time during the 95-96 season, the play will be re-interpreted by Studio Oyuncuları, founded by Şahika Tekand, on their 25th anniversary.
Istanbul Minerals and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB), a union of six associations collectively responsible for approximately 30 percent of Turkey's total exports, awarded the companies that had a share in this impressive success. Now a traditional IMMIB event which has been taking place for seven years, the award ceremony saw the highest exporters of 2013 receive 168 awards in 56 categories.

Within this framework, the British weekly economics magazine The Economist has organized a summit entitled "Feeding the World" in London on February 13 to draw attention to hunger and nutrition issues throughout the world. Esin Mete, president of the International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA) and CEO of Toros-Agri attended the summit alongside industry leaders, governmental officers, NGOs, and scientists.
World-renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli gave a magnificent concert in front of an audience of 9000 in İstanbul on Saturday night, February 22, as part of celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of Turkish largest environmental NGO, TEMA Foundation.
As Tekfen Foundation's token of support for TEMA, Bocelli was accompanied by Tekfen Philharmonic, a 75-member orchestra directed by guest conductor Marcello Rota. The concert lasted nearly two hours, and the audience gave a standing ovation to Bocelli, who came back on stage for three encores.

ATA Consortium (AMEC-Tekfen-Azfen) signed an agreement with BP Exploration (Shah Deniz) and undertook the construction, installation, and delivery of two offshore platforms and their connection bridges, weighing a total of 26,442 tons. The estimated budget of the project is USD975 million, and together with its share in Azfen, Tekfen's portion will amount to approximately USD496 million.
On November 25-27, a delegation of 16 representing IFA attended the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals at the United Nations in New York.
The team, headed by IFA President Esin Mete, attended bilateral meetings with country missions and key UN staff involved in the working process on Sustainable Development Goals during which they advocated for a stand-alone goal for eradicating hunger and malnutrition and highlighted the key role of fertilizers at the nexus of food, nutrition, human health and economic development.

The biggest international art exhibition organized in Turkey since 1987, the Istanbul Biennial constitutes an important ground for the latest debates on the arts, as well as playing a role in the rediscovery of the city's history through venues, and introducing contemporary artists from Turkey and many other countries to the international scene.
Scheduled to take place between September 14 and October 20, 2013, the 13th Istanbul Biennial can be seen free of charge. The focus of the Biennial will be the concept of public sphere as a political forum, with the aim of establishing a basis for generating ideas and forms on contested issues such as civilization, barbarianism, democracy, spatial-economic justice and the role of contemporary art.
